CASPER ( B.K.A.) MR.C THE SLIDE MAN
CHA-CHA NOW YALL!!!
Personality Bio
CASPER (B.K.A.) MR.C THE SLIDE MAN spawned a regional dance craze with his infamous "Cha-Cha Slide," a
dance anthem much in the spirit of more recognized anthems such as "Macarena" and "Electric Slide." As a
personal trainer at Bally's, Perry developed a popular aerobic dance exercise based largely on his background as a
stepper (he won Chicago's annual World's Largest Steppers Contest ten (10) times).
Years later, Chicago radio station WGCI & Elroy Smith joined forces with Perry to record a song for his dance; the
station also helped promote the song with advertising and even went so far as to finance a dance video. Soon the
Chicago-based M.O.B. label joined the party and released the Cha-Cha Slide album, and after the song/dance
became a minor phenomenon in Chicago, Universal Records picked up the album for national distribution. It dented
the Billboard charts and became infamous in the Chicago area, but the "Cha-Cha Slide" remained largely a regional
novelty.
He started off when he was six years of age-old school dancing and impersonating music artists such as, James
Brown, Teddy Pendergrass, Muddy Waters and Eddie Murphy, just to name a few. In his years of growing up he was
able to get into the film field by doing such movies as Monkey Hustle & Love Jones with Nia Long & Lorenze Tate.
Casper also helped in creating a video for Musiq Soulchild entitled "Just Friends." Also Gerald Levert's video (Step
On). Casper is still going with his music, dancing & radio career and hope to be doing it as long as the other
personalities.
"CASPER IS A TRUE LEGEND AND A PIONEER OF THE GAME."
